"People overestimate what they can do in a couple weeks or a few months, and underestimate what they can do in a year, 5 years, or a couple decades. " Luckily, I found all my old pictures I took from when I first set up my studio. It’s really cool to see what it was and what it has become for me personally. My 3 Year Business Anniversary Celebration is coming up Tuesday, April 25th from 6-8PM at the studio. I’ll have some champagne and some healthy snacks for everybody to enjoy! I hope to see everybody there.
I’m having a last minute Workshop on the basics of lower body mobility next Wednesday the 8th, from 6pm to 7:30pm. We’ll be working on getting rid of tension in the muscles, movement, and adding range of motion in the hips, knees, and ankles. The cost is $25 per person. Please RSVP if you want to attend!! Click on the Facebook event link below to check it out!
I talk about meditating and working on your mental health just as much as I talk about working out and movement because it is just as important! I’ve recently been researching deeper into the meditation practice and stumbled upon the concept of having "Chakras" in your body. I found this video on Facebook actually, and it explains Chakras in a very simple and understandable way. It’s a little bit long of a video (10 minutes), but it’s definitely worth the watch.
Usually the things that are most necessary, are the most difficult and outside of our comfort zone. I’m still young and have a lot left I want to accomplish. But looking back on the things that I have accomplished so far, I can’t say that I was comfortable doing any of them at the time. Most of the time I was nervous, anxious, sometimes I was just straight up scared, but I went ahead and did those things anyways despite those feelings. And that’s not to say I haven’t failed. But I don’t regret those failure. I just learn from them, and try again. What is something that you’ve been thinking about doing but are a little nervous about going for it? Take a few moments to visualize what it is you want to happen, make sure your visualization is extremely clear. Then take a deep breath, count down 5…4…3…2..1 and DO IT!!!
What’s the first thing you consume in the morning? For most of us, it seems to be coffee is the first thing we go too. But it’s crucial that the first thing you consume in the morning is WATER!!! Why? 1. You haven’t had any water all night. Your body is dehydrated and needs some H2O. 2. Drinking water first thing will jump start your metabolism. Studies have shown that drinking 16 ounces of water first thing can increase your metabolism by over 20%!!! 3. It will help flush out toxins, and more specifically, it will cleanse your colon before you eat (or drink your coffee) anything, which will allow your body to better absorb the nutrients from your breakfast. 4. Your brain tissue is 76% water and is running on low fuel first thing in the morning! It needs those 16 ounces of water asap! 5. Drinking water first thing will help you to feel fuller longer, which should help you to avoid over eating. Most of us don’t drink enough water. So start off each day by drinking 16 ounces of water before you consume anything else. Continue to drink water regularly throughout the day, by the end of the day you should have consumed at least 1 gallon of water, preferably 1.5 gallons!
Here’s a clip from lasts nights #goalsetting workshop!! Thank you so much to everybody that came out to listen and learn. I’ll definitely be doing more of these events in the future. I received a little less than one hundred dollars in donations, so I’m proud to say I’ll be donating $50 to Montrel Living Veterans Housing Organization here in Dallas. I realize it’s a small amount, but it’s something. And what’s more, is that I’m no longer thinking about giving and pursuing my goals, I’m doing it. Don’t be afraid to start small, don’t be afraid to start at the bottom. As for this clip, it’s step 8/10 of my goal setting process. Once you write down a list of your goals and the things you want. That list is describing somebody that’s not you, because you haven’t done those things yet. So what would that person do? What are they like? Think about it in depth then emulate the person you want to be.

This is one of my main philosophies both in movement and in life. Being comfortable is nothing but just that, comfort. You usually do not grow as a person when you are comfortable, nor are you hungry and chasing after that which you desire. DISCOMFORT leads to growth, discomfort leads to change, discomfort leads to strength. I’ll be discussing this more in depth Wednesday night and a lot more at the upcoming Goal Setting Workshop! I’m hosting a Goal Setting Workshop at my studio, January 25th from 630-730pm!!! Its really surprised me how many people don’t set goals. One thing every successful business, every championship team, and every champion athlete does is create a game plan, usually a really detailed game plan. How can you expect to succeed and win without a game plan? Come learn how to create that game plan with me on January 25th. The workshop is donation based with half of all proceeds going to help homeless vets housing here in Dallas. I’ll post more information on the charity group after I meet with the groups President soon. Please RSVP if you plan to attend!
The key to accomplishing any goal is to, at minimum, take small steps everyday in the form of ACTION toward your ultimate goal. So for most people, the first step is creating new routines so they can set themselves up for success. Here’s my basic morning routine (make sure to check out the basic total body movement routine video with the link below #4): 1. I usually wake up about an hour and a half before work. I’ll check my text messages to see if any of my morning students have contacted me. And then I DO NOT check any form of social media or emails. You want to make sure the first thing you hear or think in the morning is good, something that gets you off on the right foot, and you are rolling the dice with social media and emails. It’s also been studied and proven that people who spend less time on social media are happier people. 2. I’ll immediately start some type of positive, educational, or inspirational audio to get my mindset where I want it to be for the day. 3. Breakfast- always drink at least 16 ounces of water before you consume anything else!!! You haven’t had anything to drink all night and your body is thirsty!!! I usually have 2-4 eggs, 8-20 fluid ounces of smoothie (depending upon how long it’ll be till I can eat again) I make nightly before bed, and coffee with butter and honey. 4. After that I head to work and do some basic movement for at least 10 minutes. Check out the youtube video below for some ideas (or you could even copy this routine) on creating your own basic total body movement routine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOEV26N2VOE 5. Meditate- focus on what you want, what you are GOING to ACCOMPLISH today, and your vision of your future. The small things you do everyday, the small choices you make everyday, shape your life in every way. Happy New Years!!!
